Tagetes Essential Oil is derived from the Tagetes glandulifera plant that is also known as Marigold. This annual plant has feather-like dark green leaves and it bears flowers in yellow, orange and white colors. The plant grows up to a height of 30 cm and is native to Egypt. Today, farmers cultivate the plant all over the world. They steam-distill the stems, flowers, and leaves of the Tagetes glandulifera plant to obtain its essential oil. It is golden yellow in color and diffuses a fruity aroma.
Aromatically, Tagetes Essential Oil possesses a fresh, sweet, floral, slightly fruity aroma. I find that it blends well with essential oils in the citrus, floral and wood families.
