Our organic tarragon oil is steam distilled from the leaves of Artemisia dracunculus. Which is a close relative of the well-known Artemisia absinthium, or wormwood. The fresh and dried leaves are most often used in kitchens as a seasoning. 

Tarragon essential oil is high in estragole and should therefore be used in low dilution.  Because Tarragon has powerful anti-spasmodic effects it said to be helpful in massage blends for muscular spasms, dysmenorrhoea, amenorrhoea, and menopause.  Tarragon is said to be helpful diffused to ease persistent coughing.  It is a choice oil for situations of spastic colon and stomach related spasms when blended in carrier oil and massaged onto the abdomen. For abdominal spasms consider blending with another anti-spasmodic essential oil such as Bergamot.
